The Duchess of Sussex would indeed have continued to use its title publicly, despite the commitment made to no longer take advantage of it. In question: a gift basket sent to the podcasteer Jamie Kern Lima, accompanied by a signed card: “With the compliments of HRH the Duchess of Sussex.” A detail posted in a video that has not escaped observers of the monarchy.
The Buckingham Palace had however been clear in January 2020: the Sussex will no longer carry the title of its Royal Highness since they are no longer active members of the royal family. A source close to Meghan, however, tells “page six” that this gesture was strictly personal, and does not constitute commercial use of the title.
