Quebecers would prefer to have a meal with the chief of the Bloc Québécois Yves-François Blanchet, but to face the threats of Donald Trump and manage the economy, they count on the Liberal Marc Carney.

The Trump effect on the choice of voting in Quebec is powerful, reveals a large of the firm ordered for the newspaper-TVA-national-post. Two weeks before the election, no less than 63% of Quebecers are always influenced at least “a little” by the situation with our neighbors in the South.

Moreover, 53% of Quebecers believe that Liberal chief Marc Carney has the skills necessary to manage the relationship with the States, in particular with President Donald Trump. If Quebecers vote with their wallet, “it’s Carney who has the advantage,” notes the sounder Jean-Marc Léger.

He largely dominates his opponents with Quebecers on many aspects, particularly in terms of economic competence as well as to manage inflation and the cost of living.

However, on the whole, the main federal chiefs do not seem to inspire the Quebec population. Depending on the probe, they have little appetite to go to the table in their company.

If they could choose a chef, 32% of Quebecers would opt for an empty chair in of them to supper at home. Only the leader of the Quebec Bloc stands out a little bit with a 19% support harvest. The other three chefs get a small 12%. “There is no one who is distinguished from others,” said Jean-Marc Léger.

*This online survey was carried out from April 10 to 14, 2025 to 3,005 Canadian respondents aged 18 years or over. A probabilistic sample of this size would have an error margin of at most ± 1.79% (19 times out of 20).
