London | The alleged victim of ex-players of team Canada Junior 2018 accused of sexual assault continues his counter-examination for the third day in a row and he seems to begin to experience difficulties.
“I try to do my best, it is difficult,” said the young woman on several occasions, while the lawyer of one of the accused tried to contradict her on several aspects of her testimony.
She was 20 years old at the time of the facts alleged against the five accused, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dubé, Carter Hart, Alex formenton and Cal Fote. The event would have occurred in London, in June 2018, on the occasion of the triumph a few months earlier from the Canadian team in the world championship.
On Monday, she told the horror night she said she had lived, saying that she was repeatedly attacked and had the impression of being “imprisoned” in the hotel chamber of the London Delta.
The one that can only be identified by the initials of EM because of a non-publication order protecting its identity is currently undergoing the first counter-examination of a series of five. Each accused has his legal team, who may question her as he pleases to raise contradictions in his version of the facts.
Since Wednesday morning, it is Carter Hart’s lawyer, Megan Savard, who questions the young woman.
-The defense lawyer notably criticized him for not having “made seriously” a statement sent in July 2022 to Hockey Canada and for not having corrected “errors”.
“Honestly, it was just something I didn’t want to relive again. I was ready to leave that behind me, explained EM I did not know that all this would be part of the same investigation (with the police) at some point. ”
