An altercation which degenerated between two men in a commercial building on Boulevard Décarie, in the arrondissement of Saint-Laurent, left one dead on Thursday.
It was a call at 911 around 5:10 a.m. Thursday morning, which alerted the police.
In the afternoon, the SPVM Confirmed that the victim, a 30 -year -old man who was injured in the upper body by a sharp object and who was unconscious at the time of his transport in the hospital, died of his injuries during the day. It is the ninth murder in the territory of the island of Montreal, also indicates the SPVM.
A suspect was arrested on the scene by the police. Information suggests that he may have played a role in the altercation. This 40 -year -old suspect will be questioned by the police on Thursday. For the moment, no charge has been made in this case.

Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for SPVMsays that the altercation between the two men, who knew each other, occurred on the second floor of a commercial building on Boulevard Décarie, near Beaudet Street. The victim would have been seen by one or more witnesses leaving the building. The police later found the man who was lying on the sidewalk.
A large security perimeter has been set up in the sector, and the Décarie boulevard is closed to traffic between the Beaudet streets and the church. Investigators of SPVM are looking for potential witnesses and will view, in the coming hours, the images that surveillance cameras could have captured in the surroundings.

In addition, a call was received by the 911 around 6 a.m. Thursday, following shots fired earlier, at night, on rue Dante near Henri-Julien Avenue, in Petite Italy, in the Rosemont-L-Petite-Patrie district. THE SPVM found sockets on the ground and projectile impacts were found on the facade of a trade.
