The accident is the second of the week.
In a press release, the Vinci Autoroutes dealer expressed his great weariness in the face of a new accident which once again put the life of his agents in danger.
“A new intervention vehicle from Vinci Autoroutes was struck this Friday morning, shortly after 8 am, on the A8 motorway, between the exchangers of Fréjus Est (n ° 38) and of the Adrets (n ° 39), in the direction of Italy,” said Vinci in a press release. “The intervention vehicle was in protection of a heavyweight broken down on the right track, when a truck came to hit it. Fortunately, the man in yellow was not injured, even though the consequences of this accident could have been dramatic,” deplored the dealer of most of the highways in the south of France.
Under the impact, the side and the rear of the Vinci Autoroutes intervention van have been strongly damaged.
Complaint of complaints and awareness campaign
Following this new hit, Vinci Autoroutes will file a complaint and will deploy an awareness campaign on the light panels of the Vinci Autoroutes network, for 24 hours “so that these unacceptable accidents cease”.
This accident comes less than a week after the clash of a van occurred on Monday May 5 on the A62. “These behaviors can no longer last. An awareness is more than ever necessary to ensure the safety of staff in road and highway intervention,” annoys Vinci.
This is the 20th vancasted van this year on the Vinci Autoroutes network by a truck.
To preserve their safety, like that of users of the highway, Vinci Autoroutes once again recalls the absolute importance of respecting the rules of the highway code and in particular that of the safety corridor, registered in the Highway Code since 2018:
Approaching an intervention vehicle:
- 1. I slow down
- 2. I go away
- 3. I change track if possible.
