Six major projects are deployed over more than 18 cumulative kilometers, covering both existing axes strengthening, the creation of links and the reconfiguration of structuring crossroads.

Urban development: is the scene of a major urban transformation. In anticipation of the Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), two major projects are launched at the level of the ocher city, namely the creation of the underground car park in the city center and the ambitious reconfiguration of the road network leading to the large stadium.

On the eve of the African Cup of Nations 2025 (CAN 2025), the city of Marrakech proceeds to significant arrangements of its road network in order to ensure easy and safe access to the large stadium. These works, placed under the delegated project management of the local development company Marrakech Mobility, are part of an ambitious articulated around an integrated territorial vision conciliatory technical performance, urban functionality and readability of flows. “Thought as an urban transformation lever beyond the simple event issue, this road program strengthens the resilience of the territory in the face of large mobility. It also reflects Marrakech’s ambition to establish its positioning as a host city capable of meeting the requirements of leading sports , while enrolling these efforts in a lasting logic of structuring of the urban landscape, “we learned from the SDL Marrakech Mobility.

In details, six major projects are deployed over more than 18 cumulative kilometers, covering both existing axis strengthening operations, the creation of new links and the reconfiguration of structuring crossroads. “These interventions directly affect the connections between the RN9, the Rocade is, the district of Jaâfaria and the different stadium entries, with particular attention paid to the absorption capacity of traffic during periods of strong crowds,” explains the SDL in this direction. And to specify that: “Among the protruding points of the system, there are the widening of the RP2118 provincial road in double track, the creation of a new 3 -kilometer bypass on a virgin hold, or the complete redevelopment of the roundabout PK 237+700 on the RN9. The latter, with a high density of traffic, will benefit from four rotten-upstairs straps, coupled with landscaping and reinforced signaling ”. The RN9, the main artery from the North, is also the subject of two differentiated interventions. In this sense, let us cite the transition to three ways per over 3.2 kilometers between the Tensift bridge, the SI3 roundabout, as well as the complete requalification of the section leading to the highway, integrating sidewalks, side green spaces, structural strengthening and public lighting. Finally, a new 1.5 -kilometer link will connect the RN9 to the Jaâfaria road, with a specific layout of the crossroads and the roundabout directly serving the northern entrance to the large stadium.

Among the major sites in the Cité Ocher, we cite the creation of the first collective underground car park in the city center. The objective is double: unclog the city center and revalue public on the surface. In accordance with the provisions of the “Grand Guéliz” program, the of this underground is currently launched in place of November 16. For an investment of 98 million dirhams, this project spread over an area of 9,500 square meters includes two levels of parking in basement, with a capacity of 460 cars and 60 two-wheelers, as well as 10 charging stations for electric vehicles. Three access points are planned, in this case rue Al Qadi Ayyad, rue Oued El Makhazine and avenue Hassan II.
On the surface, a new public square will be created with a central fountain, vegetated areas, contemporary lighting and space dedicated to cultural events. This new infrastructure is a direct response to the densification of the neighborhood, without compromising its urban identity.
Note that the deadlines set for this project are eight months, thus reflecting the dynamics of gentle but structuring requalification of urban centralities, where the rational use of space becomes a lever of sustainability, fluid mobility and quality of life.
