A judicial information was opened for “assassination” in the investigation into death on April 24 of a 15 -year -old teenager in a high school in Nantes killed with a knife by another teenager, the city’s prosecutor’s office announced Tuesday.
“I confirm (…) the referral of the investigating judge of Nantes, on April 30, 2025, of the assassination leaders, attempted murder and violence aggravated by three circumstances, in this case with a weapon, within a school establishment and with the concealed face”, told the press the prosecutor of the Republic of Nantes Antoine Leroy, specifying that the accused was “always in psychiatric care”.
On April 24, shortly afternoon, a 16-year-old boy, masked and with a hunting knife of about 20 cm, killed a 15-year-old high school student, hitting her with 57 stabs in a room in the school group in Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides.
In another room, he made three injured, two boys and a girl, aged 15 to 16.
At a press conference on April 25, the prosecutor said that “no mobile” could be mentioned in “certain”.
The intervention of a computer technician who gave “a chair in the back” of the aggressor put an end to the attack on the high school student, who was arrested a few minutes later by the police, placed in police custody, then hospitalized in a psychiatric unit.
The prosecutor also described the personality of the aggressor, presented as “extremely lonely” with few friends. The young man manifests “clearly a certain fascination for Hitler”, who earned him a summons with his mother in front of the Lycée Director the day before Easter Holidays.
During his press conference, the magistrate said that an investigation for “murder” is open, however, not spreading out the possibility that it evolves in “assassination” given “elements likely to characterize a premeditation”.
