Russian anti -aircraft defense have destroyed a swarm of Ukrainian drones aimed at Moscow for the second night in a row, causing the capital’s airports, Russian officials said early Tuesday.

Mayor Sergei Sobianine said that at least 19 Ukrainian drones had been slaughtered while they were approaching Moscow “from different directions”.

“In places where fragments fell, there was no destruction or victim,” wrote Sobianine on the Telegram messaging application. “Emergency services specialists are currently involved in incidents. »»

He said that part of the debris had come across one of the main highways leading to the city.

The Russian aviation federal agency, Rosaviatsia, announced on Telegram that it has suspended flights in the four airports serving Moscow. Airports in several regional cities have also been closed.

On Tuesday, Russian anti -aircraft defense units destroyed four Ukrainian drones as Moscow approaches, without any damage or injured being reported.

The war started over three years ago, when invaded Ukraine, an operation that Moscow describes as “ military operation”. Since then, kyiv has carried out several drone attacks against Moscow. The most important, in March, had killed three people.

No immediate comments were issued by kyiv about the latest drone . Ukraine affirms that its drone attacks aim to destroy key infrastructure for the Russian war effort and constitute a response to the continuous offensive of Russia on Ukrainian territory, including against residential areas and energy infrastructure.
