The April 2025 report on national energy production reveals notable performance in the oil and gas fields of Sangomar, GTA and Gadiaga.
The production of the offshore field of Sangomar continues on its momentum, with four cargoes of crude oil (SAN027, SAN028, SAN029 and SAN030) removed and marketed during the month of April. The total exported volume reaches 3.8 million barrels, confirming the stability of operations. Annual forecasts remain unchanged: around 30.53 million crude barrels should be produced in 2025.
The great turtle Ahmeyim (GTA) has taken a historic stage with the complete loading of its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on April 15, 2025. This cargo (GTA_2025_001) represents 163,259 cubic meters, or about 3.71 million mmbtu. This export marks the official entry of Senegal and Mauritania into the circle of producer and exporters of LNG. The operations to commission the facilities continue, with the aim of a gradual rise in production in the coming months.
On the Gadiaga site, located in the Thiès region, gas production remains constant. During the first quarter of 2025, 548,078 nm³ (normal cubic meters) of natural gas were marketed. For the month of April alone, the estimated volume reaches 219,809 nm³, confirming the regularity of the site in the natural gas supply intended for the local market.
