Miscellaneous facts. In the early evening on Monday evening, around fifty firefighters converged towards the 1350, Chemin ninety, for a that broke out with Re-Plast from Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Consil.

It was barely 7 p.m. when the wide plume of smoke invaded the Bonconseillois sky. Road users, and citizens for miles around, could see it as the flames were intense.

Without hesitation, the director of the municipality’s fire department, Frédérick Marcotte, asked for help from the sappers of Saint-Cyrille, Sainte-Clotilde-de-Horton, Saint-Léonard-d’Aston and Sainte-Perpétue to come and fight the Intense Brasier.

The flames attacked a building detached from the main factory when the stakeholders arrived, but the intense heat slowly embraced everything around it. A load shedding was requested due to the presence of a power which was at the heart of the intervention. The customers of the 4 -season hotel complex have been deprived of current a good part of the evening.

The sappers quickly invested a section of the factory in an attempt to the spread of the flames to the rest of the large building. Firefighters went up to the roof while others surrounded the infrastructure to the flames on all sides.

The intervention planning of director Marcotte brought fruit, the flames could be contained and the blaze did not reach most of the company which specializes in the production of plates for patio and urban furniture made from post-consumption and post-industrial plastics recycled 100 %.

At the height of the claim, dozens of cars were aligned in neighboring parking lot, much like at the Ciné-Parc, to attend the destruction of the factory.

The SIUCQ stakeholders came in reinforcements to direct traffic. A firefighter was encountered by the SIUCQ service due to a weakness caused by a heat stroke.

For the moment, the cause of the disaster is not known, but, according to an employee encountered on the spot, the dust removal could be at the origin of the fire. An investigation will be carried out following the extinction of the flames.

Two mechanical shovels were used to clear the pieces of metal from the burned structure to facilitate access to firefighters at the hot spots of the fire.
