The date is approaching, the amount is almost known

14 million retirees will see their pension increase in 2025. The increase rate can be calculated.

The deadline is fast approaching for millions of retirees. Some have every interest in checking this in their . And for good reason, it is from this specific that retirement pensions will be revalued in 2025. The date is therefore known, but it is also possible to estimate the amount of this increase.

This revaluation comes when all retirees in France have already seen their retirement pension increase by 2.2% on January 1. A total of 17 million retirees had benefited from this boost. The increase in January itself made a previous revaluation of 1.6% applied on November 1, 2024. However, the latter only concerned the complementary retirement pensions of former employees in the private sector, namely retirees affiliated to the Agirc-Arrco regime.

These successive revaluations made it possible to bring the average amount of a retirement pension in France to 1,661 euros gross monthly, or around 1,545 euros net. For former private employees, the additional retirement pension paid by AGIRC-Arrco amounts to an average of 514 euros per month.

To see basic retirement pensions being revalued, it will be necessary to wait until January 1, 2026. Payed by retirement insurance at 17 million retirees, basic retirement pensions are re -evaluated only at the start of the year, as was the case in 2025.

Nevertheless, good awaits the 14 million retirees affiliated with Agirc-Arrco. Their complementary pension will be revalued on November 1, 2025. The social partners who manage the retirement plan for private employees will meet soon to determine the precise percentage of this increase. The retirees concerned will see this increase arriving in their bank account from November 3, 2025.

The calculation of the revaluation of Agirc-Arrco pensions obeys strict rules, defined by the National Interprofessional (Ani). The increase is indexed to the inflation rate recorded during the year. This rate is then reduced by approximately 0.4 points. However, according to the latest forecasts from the Banque de France, inflation in 2025 should be around 1.3%. By applying the Rules of the Ani, the increase in Agirc-Arrco pensions could therefore be between 0.9% and 1.3%.

Concretely, AGIRC-Arrco retirees could see their additional retirement pension from 514 euros, on average per month, to 518 or even 520 euros (in the of cases).

These projections contrast with the more generous revaluations recorded in previous years. For the record, Agirc-Arrco’s additional pensions had a significant increase of 5.1% on November 1, 2022, followed by a revaluation of 4.9% on November 1, 2023.
