The Le Baluchon school, located on Boulevard Je-Me-Souviens, will welcome the 5the Baluchon youth book fair on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 May.
This family meeting is an opportunity to sell new and used books for children from 1 to 17 years old.
The raised money will be distributed at the Le Baluchon Foundation. The objective of the event is to promote reading among young people in a pleasant and interactive way.
Multitude of activities
The Baluchon children’s book fair stands out for its many activities offered to children.
first there will be reading various tales under the tent on Friday evening. The day on Saturdays will start on the right foot with a musical performance by a Laval guitarist and violinist duo.
Signs, Tatous, Macramé and Interactive Reading workshops will also be on site to amuse young people and make them discover new things.
They will also be able to visit a kiosk run by craftsmen with creations related to reading.
“For example, an artist [Julie Trottier] Producing signs in pyrography, explains Marie-Josée Bleau, member of the organizing committee. It’s a first this year. We are very happy with this new collaboration. ”
Authors resurface
-More than a dozen authors will answer for this Lavallois book fair, such as Tristan Demers, Marie Potvin and Mika.
Tristan Demers, also recognized as a great designer of comics, will lead a very popular activity in children.
“Activity It’s called drawing, it’s easy! is probably the most unfortunate and returns every year, underlines Marie-Josée Bleau. Tristan Demers gives a little lesson to stimulate creativity around drawing, but also around comics. ”

The Baluchon children’s book fair is associated with Days Read and Discovera new partnership this year. Their goal is to bring a good reading and culture experience to young people from zero to twelve years old. They will have a corner of the room in order to be able to animate inclusive and enriching activities for children.
