
The opening by its royal Highness of this fair is a new illustration of the high solicitude of which SM The King continues to surround the cultural domain and his firm will to promote the various manifestations, with the main objective of the building of a society of knowledge, open, prosperous and civilized.
Sar Le Prince Moulay Rachid has visited several stands of the show, including that of the Emirate of Charjah, guest of honor of this 30th edition of the Siel, which celebrates the historical and cultural links which unite the Kingdom of Morocco to the State of the United Arab Emirates Brother and aims to present the new developments of the Emiratic cultural scene.
His Royal Highness has also visited the stands of Palestine, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the French Institute of Morocco, the Chérifian distribution and press company (Sochepress), Dar Amane and the universe of Smurfs.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region and the wilaya of the same region, the 30th International Edition and Book Fair brings together 756 exhibitors, including 292 direct and 464 indirect, representing 51 countries.
A wide selection of more than 100,000 titles covering all the fields of knowledge and various literary genres are exhibited at the show which, this year, honors the emirate of Charjah and celebrates the Moroccans of the world, who contribute to the influence of plural Moroccan identity beyond borders.
With a rich and diversified cultural program, this edition knows the participation of many researchers, writers and creators, Moroccans and foreigners, who will have to animate conferences, literary meetings, poetic evenings, and presentations of works.
-In addition, strong moments will punctuate this 30th edition, with tributes to eminent figures of Moroccan creation, whose works have marked national culture and contributed to its influence. The program also includes tributes to personalities of Arab culture, organized in partnership with the Arab organization for Education, Culture and Sciences (Alecso), as well as literary prizes, including the Ibn Batouta Prize for Travel Literature and the National Prize for Reading.
Like previous editions, a rich and varied program for children and students will be offered throughout the show.
The 30th edition of the Siel is intended to be a major event ahead of helping to energize the Moroccan cultural scene and strengthen the influence of Rabat as a cultural destination, both national and internationally, while the city is preparing to carry the title of world capital of the book in 2026.
Upon his arrival at the International Edition and Book Fair, Sar Prince Moulay Rachid reviewed a section of the auxiliary forces which made honors, before being praised by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, his Sheikha Bodour Bodour Sultan Al Qasmi, President of the Book of the Emirate Salon, and Mr. Ahmed Ben Rakkad Al Ameri, Executive President of the Book Authority of the Emirate of Charjah.
His Royal Highness was also welcomed by Mr. Driss El Yazami, President of the Council of the Moroccan Community in Abroad (CCME), Mr. Mohamed Yacoubi, wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, governor of the prefecture of Rabat, Mr. Rachid El Abdi, president of the regional council of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, and Mr. Salim of the Islamic world for Education, Sciences and Culture (ICESCO).
Sar Prince Moulay Rachid was also welcomed by Ms. Fatiha El Moudni, president of the municipal council, Mr. Abdelaziz Driouich, president of the prefectural council, Ms. Latifa Moftaqir, Director of the Archives of the Kingdom of Morocco, General Commissioner of Siel, Mr. Salah-Eddine Abkari, interim secretary of the culture department, and Director of the book, libraries and archives.
