Mr. Jambon even judged that the reactions of “certain groups” are disproportionate “in this phase”. “Consultations are still in progress, but they are still far from over,” said the minister. “We take our time to chat with all the groups”.
Will policies pensions be also reviewed?
He unchanged policies, the budget deficit would reach 6.5 %, or 46 billion euros, by 2029, said the minister. Regarding pensions, Mr. Jambon wishes to save 2.3 billion euros by 2029. “And the next legislature will also have to tighten his belt,” said Mr. Jambon.
The philosophy behind the reforms is to adjust the relationship between actual work and the pension regime, but also to harmonize the various statutes between civil servants, employees and the self -employed, reminded the minister. This involves, among other things, through a certain number of adaptations of the bonus-malus system, the definition of a year of career and the proportion of equivalent periods.
The Minister wants all texts to be adopted by the Federal Parliament by the end of the year, so that the measures come into force on January 1. Certain elements, however, would have a date of subsequent implementation.
