The work started on March 24 concerning the finalization of the adjustments of the Meuse quays on the left bank continues, communicated on Friday the communal Liège college. As a reminder, the first interventions started Quai de Rome, in its part between the Bridge of Fragnée and the Quai Banning. The final objective of the project is to ensure the complete and secure continuity of pedestrian and bike paths between the Val Benoît site and the coronmeuse eco -neighborhood.
From this Monday, May 5, the second site phase starts at the city center, on the Roosevelt quays and quays of the ribuée. A suitable signaling will first be set up and then after various preparations, the proper work will start on May 12 at the Quai Roosevelt and the Quai Paul Van Hoegaerden, as well as the redevelopment of the Quai de la Ribuée, whose site should last until the end of September 2025.
From the week of May 5 and during this new site phase, a traffic band will be maintained on the quays concerned in the direction of Hersal while the traffic in the other direction will be the subject of a deviation by Place Cockerill and the Place du XX August, the city further warned. The two ramps to the Kennedy bridge will be gradually closed to be redeveloped and ultimately become a space reserved for soft modes.
“During this site phase, car traffic will be maintained but limited to 30km/h. In this context, the attention of drivers is particularly desired on the signaling set up around the quays. It is also to be noted that in collaboration with the fairs and markets service, the bat market will be well maintained throughout the site. The end of this ambitious redevelopment project of the left bank of the Meuse quays is estimated for the end of 2026. By then, the traffic methods will of course be adapted according to the progress of the work, “finished the authorities.
Next: a driver bus farts and voluntarily overturns a cyclist
Previous: traffic will be disturbed again on avenue Georges Truffaut and the Monsin will be closed
