This Wednesday, May 7, the Neuvy Sports Basketball Basketball Club welcomed an awareness -raising initiative against sexual violence, harassment and hazing in a sports environment.
At the initiative of the Vice-President, Florent Colineau, and its president Malo Gueguen, the Colossus Aux Foot d’Argile association, represented by Sabrina Loirat, intervened with young athletes and their supervisors with suitable words to make them aware.
The young basketball players in the U13, U15, U18 boys and girls category participated in this initiative during their respective training. The sessions, supervised by their coaches Amaury Baudrier, Zoé Hornoy made it possible to tackle different subjects in an adapted manner.

At 7:30 p.m., all of the parents were also invited, only the U18 boys team and their Amaury coach were present and curious to know this association.
Break the silence
The intervention began with the viewing of the video of Sébastien Boueilh, the founder of the association. His story made it possible to highlight the importance of speech and recognition of warning signals in the face of abuse situations.
The emphasis was placed on the need to remove certain taboos. Alarming figures have been recalled, stressing the extent of the problem of sexual violence on minors. By also recalling that in the event of doubt or discomfort, one should not hesitate to speak and release the word, in order to break the silence.

The club thus actively contributes to a safer and more vigilant sports environment. The initiative testifies to a growing collective responsibility within the sports world in the face of this sensitive problem.
