The only woman to train a professional male basketball team in the first three French divisions, Lauriane Dolt lives an exceptional season at the Stb Le Havre. A dazzling ascent which could well be concluded with a rise in Pro B. Portrait.

At Saint-Thomas Basket Le Havre, it’s Lauriane Dolt on the baguette. The 42 -year -old coach arrived last summer in Normandy. With her method and vision of the game, she quickly conquered her locker room.
“She is a really very intelligent coach. You just have to be very focused because she asks us to put a lot of intensity”, testifies Joel Awich, player of the Stb Le Havre. “She is really strong in terms of strategy, but also in the way she talks to players. She knows how to get the best of them in every game.”
“She is known to launch young players. We communicated when she arrived on the link we would have, the role I will have on the field and it touched me a lot”, Ajoute Zaion Nebot.
For the coach, everything starts from the human relationship: “I am a lot on the human, on the players, on the impact that each identity can have in the collective. And afterwards, you have to give, all the time to give. I have a lot of requirements also as to the rhythm of training, to what the players must put in place to get there. For the moment everything smiles at us so well”, explains Lauriane Dolt.
Indeed, everything smiles at Saint Thomas Basket. 1st national when we had shot this report, three games from the Pro B climb. The goal was to join the second division in two years, it could do it in a single season.

Latest proof: the large victory against Tours on May 2 (88-69). Next step: a trip Tuesday in Sables-d’Olonne.
A nice snub to those who think that a woman cannot lead to the best level of French basketball.
There may be doubtful looks or malicious looks. But again, either we like, or we don’t like it. Yes, because I am a woman, I will not attract the eyes of certain leaders, too bad!
Lauriane Dolt, Stb Le Havre coach
The Havre experience has a special resonance for Lauriane Dolt. After twelve years as assistant to Vincent Collet in Strasbourg, then a passage as a main coach in Mulhouse, she left her native region for the first time, her head full of dreams.
Today in Normandy, the horizon widens. “It’s a landscape that I like a lot, I have always loved the sea.”
She takes advantage of the calm of the sea, far from the screeching of the parquet floors, to take stock of this end of the season. “Now, we really have fate in our hands. We have three games left, at first. And even if we can’t do it, it’s not over because there are the play-offs. We are focused to win the next match and then come what will happen …”
Lauriane Dolt could already engrave her name in the history of the Stb Le Havre. Not as the first woman to coach at this level, but as the coach capable of hoisting Le Havre in Pro B … in a single season.
