The vows ceremony, Saturday January 11, 2025, is “the opportunity to take stock of the year 2024 and to discuss the projects for 2025”, introduced Richard Marquet, the mayor of Saint-Céneri-le-Gerei, one of the Most beautiful villages in France located near Alençon (Orne).
The latter did not fail to recall “the major disturbances due to the dissolution of the National Assembly”, but called for “not to be defeatist” and to “move forward”.
Gilding restorer
In 2025, municipal elected officials have notably scheduled the rehabilitation of the workshop of the painter Christian Malézieux, who died on February 6, 2024, in order to welcome Héloïse Nice, a gilding restorer.
” THE church work are still in progress with the support of the Departmental Council. Even if nothing is visible, they are moving forward! », reassured the mayor.
2025 will also be devoted to the development of the natural and historical heritage which makes the village rich and its identity. “Praised by artists and visitors, the town will continue to highlight its history, its art, its culture… It is a place where life is good, a place of attractiveness for generations to come,” underlined Richard Marquet.
-Solidarity for the budget
Saint-Céneri also lives thanks to the inhabitants and volunteers of its associations.
In solidarity, the population also participates in municipal works, which the mayor did not fail to emphasize.
For example, in 2024, several residents, with the municipal employee and elected officials, have voluntarily surveyed 15 graves in the cemetery because there were no more locations available. “This action allowed to save €50,000 in the municipal budget. »
A point also returned to by departmental councilors Sophie Douvry and Michel Gesnois, who insisted on the commitment of Giroises and Girois and more generally in rural communities because “we do not spend money that we do not have ! »
