The Lectoure photography competition awards ceremony has delivered its verdict

The photography competition held in Lectoure has given its verdict and the prizes were awarded last Saturday.

The awards ceremony for the photography competition took place last Saturday, from 11:00 to 12:30, in the Lectoure city council chamber. It was followed by the presentation of the 7 photographs hung in the Salle des Pas-Perdus of Lectoure city hall. Odile Schaap, deputy for culture, introduced the ceremony and explained the genesis of the photography competition project, the ultimate goal of which is to promote the city’s cultural, architectural and landscape heritage.

She thanked all the candidates, the members of the jury and the partners of this 1D edition: the Lectoure Art and Photography Center, “La Dépêche du Midi” and Val’Vital (Lectoure thermal baths).

Classified by categories

Lydie Marchi, jury member and director of the Centre d’art et de photographie, chaired the session. She presented all the works classified by categories: “to encourage”, “shortlist”, “favorites” and “winners”.

With Isabelle Souriment and Fiona Demichelis, also members of the jury, they commented on all the photos in front of the candidates. A very interesting exchange then took place between candidates and members of the jury. All the participants were unanimous on the quality of the competition and the decision of the jury.

Elected officials were present among the audience: Valérie Manissol, 1D assistant; Christiane Previtali, assistant in charge of works; Marie-Hélène Lagardère, assistant in charge of activities; Jean-Yves Delacoste, assistant in charge of urban planning; and Danièle Laporte, municipal councilor.
All photos will be published and the 2e edition of the competition looks promising.

The costs

Cécile Dantaux-Argela is the “jury’s favorite”, Stéphane Prieur is the favorite of “La Dépêche du Midi”. As for the winners, Bruno Deladoire won the 3rd prize, Gregory Baggi the 2nd prize and Gilles Palogue the 1st prize.
