At the Fête de l’Humanité, Yann Arthus-Bertrand takes a portrait of you

Inspired by the major INSEE surveys and the census, photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, known for his worldwide success the Earth seen from the sky, has been working for years on the unprecedented and large-scale project “The French and those who live in France”, intended to draw up a visual picture of our people. To do this, he collaborates with Hervé Le Bras, a French demographer and historian.

These portraits are taken in the studio, on the same burlap tarpaulin in order to give visual harmony to the project intended to show the extent of French diversity and the cultural richness of the country.

Leave with your free digital portrait

The photographer has already moved his traveling studio to a number of French cities, exploring the question: “What does it mean to be French? What constitutes our identity?” Thus, last week, he was in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales).

This weekend, it will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 1pm to 8pm, at the Fête de l’Humanité. You will be able to pose alone, as a couple, with friends or your pet, and leave for free with your digital portrait. The studio, where you can register, will be set up between the Book Village and the Digital Space.
A book on this ambitious project will soon be published by Actes Sud.
