Tuesday, January 21, Colonel Hors-Class Jean-Louis Ferres on the occasion of the ceremony of the vows of the departmental fire and rescue service of the Gers (SDIS 32) welcomed the president of the department, Philippe Dupouy, the president of SDIS 32 , Bernard Gendre, and the director of the prefect, Julie David. A traditional ceremony whose aim is to reveal the activity report of the year 2024.

It was registered 13,315 interventions, an intervention every 39 minutes in the department, 78% of which are personal aid (+8% compared to 2023), various 8% operations, traffic accidents 8%, fires 6% . The number of calls received for 2024 is 52,296 for 34,893 calls served, ie a hundred calls per day on average on 18 or 112. In total 11,321 victims were rescued.

Among the striking interventions the SDIS reveals the collapse of part of the roof of the Church of Monferran-Savès (January 2, 2024), the fire of a composting company in Castéron (March 14, 2024), a phenomenon Pluvieux-golds which mobilized 120 firefighters northwest of the department (June 8 and 9, 2024), many road accidents for 1,062 interventions.

In terms of enrollment, SDIS 32 has 1,262 firefighters, 27.58% women, 50 administrative and technical staff, and 86 professional firefighters. The objective of SDIS 32 is to increase the female workforce in 2025 to reach 30% feminization.

In terms of staff training 435 shares were carried out, 3,164 people participated sensitized or trained in the gestures that save.

The projects carried out in 2024 were the rehabilitation of the CIS of Miradoux and Barcelonne du Gers. The current projects are the construction of the future pleasure warrants (€ 950,000) and Mauvezin (€ 1,400,000) and the rehabilitation of the CIS of Jegun, Courrensan and the upcoming project of the future AUCH CIS for a cost of 3 million euros.
