This Saturday, January 18, 2025 is to be marked with one stone for former international footballer Marius Trésor. The City of Sainte-Anne gave the name of this legendary sportsman to the Valette stadium. Originally from Sainte-Anne, Marius Trésor has 65 caps for the French team, including 23 as captain.

Marius Trésor returning to the town of his childhood in Sainte-Anne in Guadeloupe is bound to be an event. Three days ago he celebrated his 75th birthday there, which he had not done for 40 years and this Saturday the municipal stadium of Sainte-Anne now bears his name. Great emotion for the former international footballer when the plaque was unveiled.

Born in 1950, Marius Trésor, a Saintanne native from the village, began his career at Juventus de Sainte-Anne, before joining the club in 1969. He then played for Olympique de for 8 seasons, winning the Coupe de in 1976. He finished his career at , reaching the semi-final of the 1982 World Cup. Marius Trésor has 65 caps for the French national team. France (record at the time) including 23 with the captain's armband. He will remember this Saturday, January 18, 2025 for a long time.
