Investigators from the Urban Violence Module of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), in collaboration with the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI) and patrol officers, arrested a man and a 33-year-old woman for drug trafficking and extortion, last Thursday evening around 9:30 p.m.
They are currently in custody and are expected to appear Friday afternoon at the courthouse. On site, a 40-year-old man was also arrested for drug trafficking. The latter was released by summons.
The search, which took place at the 33-year-old man’s home, in the L’Ange-Gardien sector, led to the seizure of the following merchandise:
• approximately 790 grams of crystal meth
• almost 135 grams of cocaine
-• approximately 2500 methamphetamine pills
• approximately 45 ml of GHB
• two pellet guns
In November 2024, the SPVQ implemented the PRESAP organizational strategy in order to fight against urban violence on its territory. This integrated approach, combining preventive actions and sustained field interventions, aims to educate and raise awareness among the population as well as to intervene with individuals involved in urban violence or likely to become involved in it.
