Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of Justice of François Bayrou's government, will be visiting Lot-et-Garonne on Thursday January 23. The former Minister of the Interior will notably visit the National School of Prison Administration (Enap) in Agen, at around 10:30 a.m.
Visiting Enap is a tradition for new Ministers of Justice. Eric Dupond-Moretti, Gérald Darmanin's predecessor, went to Agen to install the 215e promotion of prison guards, in February 2023.
Two official visits in 2020 and 2023
The official visit of the Minister of Justice to Enap could also be synonymous with announcements. Two years ago, Eric Dupond-Moretti had, in fact, announced a change in category for supervisors, moving to category B, category A for officers.
-The last two visits by Gérald Darmanin, at the time as Minister of the Interior, date back to 2020 and 2023. In July 2020, he went to the Port-Sainte-Marie gendarmerie, after the death of Constable Mélanie Lémée hit by a driver. Three years later, it was in the company of Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic, that the former mayor of Tourcoing came to the 47. On October 2, 2023, he inaugurated the new Tonneins gendarmerie.
