Attendance at the Lyon contemporary art museum increased by 40% between 2023 and 2024.
“Exceptional attendance” welcomes the museum management. In 2024, 147,230 people visited macLyon, an increase of 40% compared to 2023.

“The abundant program for this year 2024 marked by exhibitions of remarkable collections, the 17th Lyon Biennale, as well as the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the museum met with great success with the public“, indicates the museum in a press release.
Popular with visitors, the exhibitions dedicated to private collections and
public events attracted 57,697 people, says the museum. In particular, the impressive collection of Antoine de Galbert was presented, with works mostly rarely shown to the public.
The first museum exhibition of the artist Sylvie Selig, whose incredible 140 m long work River of no Return acquired thanks to a public subscription, also marked the year 2024 of the institution. “This exceptional increase in attendance reinforces the museum’s desire to assert itself as a place to live, open to all.“, concludes management.
