The 26th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to view monumental ice sculptures in northeast China’s Heilongjiang province.
-Every winter, Harbin transforms into a city of cold during the world’s largest ice sculpture festival. Over a vast space, hundreds of artists cut blocks cut from the nearby frozen rivers to rebuild famous monuments on the planet or create dreamlike giant statues. With temperatures sometimes reaching -30°C, more than 30,000 visitors per day from all over the world are expected during the holiday periods.
This year the theme is Winter dream, love across Asiaoffering visitors a diverse range of activities, some of which are related to the upcoming 9th Asian Winter Games.
