Jimmy Aveline, 30 years old, opened his studio photo in the former funeral home of Thury-Harcourt (Calvados).
This photography enthusiast, previously a butcher for eight years, transformed a simple curiosity for photos into a real artistic career.
“Photos with my phone”…
Jimmy enthusiastically recounts the beginnings of his passion.
“I have always loved photography, I took photos with my phone out of passion. »
Everything changed when a friend showed him photos taken with a professional camera. “It was so much better,” he confides. That same afternoon, he got his first digital camera. From then on, it was impossible to stop: “For a year and a half, I didn’t stop taking photos of everything. »
In the furnished studio
The arrival of her daughter, Célia, in February 2020 was a turning point. “It’s my first mascot,” jokes Jimmy, who has started taking portrait photography, particularly for maternity and newborn babies. In January 2020, he left his job and created his micro-business, starting in a studio set up in his garage in Saint-Martin-de-Sallen.
Pregnancy and newborn photographs
After several years of working mainly via social networks, Jimmy decided to take a step forward: “I wanted to get out of my garage and find a family life. » In November 2024, he moved into premises in Thury-Harcourt: “It’s perfect! I have room for the store in the front and my studio in the back. »
Jimmy specializes in maternity, newborn, family and wedding photography, while diversifying his services.
I also offer iris photographs, which are very trendy at the moment, as well as ANTS approved identity photos.
A unique approach
Jimmy's studio is full of accessories, including a 120x120cm wooden box made by his father. “She helped me come up with original photos right from the start. » It also has haute couture dresses, children's clothing and decorative objects for careful displays.
Jimmy offers a unique experience to his clients: a first meeting to take photos, then a second to view the photos on a video projector in a friendly atmosphere. “Customers can then select their photos and the medium that suits them. »
A recognized talent
Jimmy's talent was rewarded in 2023 by the Portraitist of France competition organized by the French Federation of Photography and Image Professions (FFPMI). He also took the official photos of Miss Normandy 2024.
The photographer, always looking for new ideas, offers prints on site ranging from 10×15 cm to 20×30 cm. With his style and his passion, Jimmy Aveline promises to become an essential figure in photography in Norman Switzerland.
