Figeac. Two craftswomen in the same shop

One, Catherine Lemouzy, has been based in her binding workshop on rue Ortabadial for almost two years, the other, Diane Hervé-Gruyer is a trompe-l'oeil painter, and lives between two construction sites in Béduer. A few weeks ago, through a chance meeting in September, where the connection between them moved very quickly, they decided to work together. “For some time now, I have been looking for premises in Figeac, a shop to paint and exhibit, in order to offer more visibility to my work. Catherine having offered to host me a few days a week in her workshop, I am taking advantage of its picture rails to display some paintings”. For both, it's a win/win, as the bookbinder explains: “Personally, it suits me, because I also have to support my Bagnac workshop, where I have been based since 2004. The presence of Diane, allows me to be there more often without closing shop here. As a result, it's open almost every day, until Saturday by appointment. Since moving to rue Ortabadial, Diane has taken up painting, and creates superb bouquets and still lifes. You can discover around ten of them, hanging from the picture rails of the workshop. “I still continue, and with the same desire, my work as a trompe-l'oeil painter on construction sites, but I have developed a passion for easel painting, and I take great pleasure in it, with perhaps be a little more freedom”.
