No more grayness! In Nîmes, in the Chemin Bas d’Avignon district, a little ray of sunshine and colors appeared this Wednesday, October 16 on the occasion of the inauguration of a new mural not far from the Lahaye tower.
Seven young budding artists
The initiative, supported by the Le Petit Atelier association and financed by the Department of Gard via the “Young People 2024” call for projects, brought together a small, crack team: seven young budding artists, aged 12 to 25, supervised by the talented street artist Mika, aka Capsman. Among them, Amine, 13, does not hide his pride: “We first colored with paint, and then we took the spray cans to fill the inside of each wall. I even drew a cat on the corner of the wall. It was so good!”
Behind this colorful project, there is Véronique Pinguet-Michel, project coordinator, and Célia Cribel, civic service volunteer. “Since February, Célia has brought together this group of curious young people, offering them the opportunity to discover local exhibitions like L’expo de Ouf, and to draw inspiration from artists on Instagram.” Result ? Four different panels, all connected by a huge, vibrant rainbow that crosses the wall next to the association’s premises.

And obviously, the experience was a hit. Lucas and Rayan, two 12-year-olds, want more. “I loved it, it was fun!” smiles Lucas while Rayan already sees the bigger picture: “It made me want to do it again!”
