VSt was April 2023: the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (MRBAB) were in social turmoil, its contested director, Michel Draguet, was reaching the end of his mandate without being able to be immediately replaced. What to do ? Barely appointed director of the Royal Library (KBR), the musicologist Sara Lammens agreed (“for four, five, six months,” it was said) to take on a double role, the directorship of the KBR and, ad interimthe management (and social demining) of the RMBAB.
