“My days were numbered”: Laure Boulleau confides in this fatal illness which she thought she had

Painful confidences. This Tuesday, May 7, Laure Boulleau was present on the set of Clique. The former professional football player, who recently became a mother, returned to a very intimate subject: her mental health. The Canal+ host then asked him questions about his “psychological scars”. And that’s when the young woman tells him a confusing confession.

“Two and a half, three years ago, I don’t know what happened, I couldn’t concentrate, I had memory lapses, I started to panic. J ‘have done shows in which I had the impression of being on autopilot, I was there without being there’.

Laure Boulleau confides in the troubles she felt

Panicked, Laure Boulleau started thinking perhaps my days were numbered. My brain wasn’t like it used to be. I had trouble remembering the names of players, even well-known ones. The days after shows, I was exhausted. (…) In fact, I was on the verge of burnout. And by wanting to do everything well, without knowing how to say no, I almost burned my head.”

Faced with this observation which worries him to the greatest extent, the young lady go see specialists. “I did all the head and neck examinations. I had crazy symptoms and there was nothing. I was becoming crazy”, she confides, still taken aback.

A specialist then gives him the diagnosis

Laure Boulleau continued to investigate this illness that was gnawing at her. “And so I consulted a neurologist whom I had already consulted for head trauma and who immediately told me what was wrong.” According to this expert, the former footballer suffered from burn-out. The specialist then prescribed medication. Now, she has found her means again and considers herself lucky.

“This is the first time I’ve talked about it in the media. I think it happens to a lot of people,” she confides. For her, it was important to talk about it and tell these people who are suffering that they are not alone. A moving testimony for someone who seems so strong but who has gone through difficult times.
