It was one of the strong images of this first episode of Mask Singer : the revelation of the very first masked celebrity. And investigators and viewers were treated to a great name from the French audiovisual landscape, in the person of Jacques Legros.
Under the Hamster costume, the news presenter was unable to last long against the more experienced voices of the Leopard and the Pearl. Not necessarily disappointed to be eliminated first from the show, the presenter spoke in more detail about his participation to our colleagues at Leisure TV.
He doesn’t like singing, dressing up or dancing!
And his participation was far from being recorded at the start! Because the basic principle of Mask Singer is rather the antithesis of Jacques Legros’ preferences. “ [Ce qui m’a amusé], it is to be so much against employment. Singing wasn’t my thing, dressing up even less: I would never go to a masked ball because I hate it so much. As for dancing, I am close to the broomstick. But a broomstick without a foot! »jokes the journalist.

But Jacques Legros knew how to overcome his weak points to succeed in interpreting “Papaoutai” of Stromae. And he didn’t just get help from the show’s technical teams. The journalist actually had significant support from one of his few close friends who knew about it: Gabriel, his son, and above all a musician!

Gabril is in fact a student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. He was thus able to give lessons to his father in order to perfect his performance. Although he wasn’t very confident about his success.
“He told me: “ But dad, you’re not going to make it!“. There I said to myself: “Wait, little brat!” You’ll see if I won’t succeed. » So it was a cute little challenge with my son to show him that his father wasn’t finished either”confides Jacques Legros.
After a stay in New York with his son and dedicated to the preparation of Mask Singer, the journalist was finally ready. But that was not enough for him to reach the second week of competition.
Jacques Legros will, however, at least have succeeded in making his son happy. He actually sent him a text message directly after the end of the show to tell him how proud he was of him.
