This Monday, September 30, the Marc Bloch high school in Sérignan inaugurated its brand new advanced visual arts class (CAAP). This is a first in Occitania.

The Marc-Bloch high school in Sérignan is opening, for the start of the 2024 school year, a preparatory class for advanced visual arts (CAAP). It is the first in Occitania, there are only fifteen in . Fourteen students have been accepted for the coming year.

This Monday, September 30, the inauguration took place within the establishment, in the presence of the rector of the academy Sophie Béjean. “We are proud and happy that Marc-Bloch high school benefits from such recognition from National Education,” insisted the mayor of Sérignan, Frédéric Lacas.

“The culmination of a strong cultural policy”

Before continuing: “We appreciate the dynamism of the high school, this preparation class for art schools is for the city the culmination of a strong cultural policy, which aims to allow young people here to encounter art from a very young age age.”

He then thanked the different actors who made the creation of this new class possible: “the regional museum of contemporary arts (MRAC) of Sérignan, the Samuel Beckett media library and its art library, the resident artists at Château Vargoz and La Cigalière.” This class will prepare students for major arts schools.
