A video that has gone viral on social networks shows Robert de Niro insulting people, presented as pro-Palestinian demonstrators and outside the camera’s field of view. This is actually filming filmed on April 27 for a Netflix series.
In the video published Tuesday, we see the American actor getting angry at people presented as pro-Palestinian demonstrators, in a street in New York. “It’s not a film! It’s reality!” declaims the star of Freed. The field is very tight, the person(s) attacked do not appear on the screen. On a beige banner, the caption explains that the actor supports Israel.

It only took a few hours for the images to go around the world and be relayed massively on social networks.
Filming for a Netflix series
The next day, the actor’s agent denied the veracity of this extract on CNN. “What you saw was a direct scene from the Netflix series ‘Zero Day’ with Robert De Niro reading the lines written in the script,” he said. Comments confirmed by a Netflix spokesperson. He explained that the video was shot on April 27 “during a rehearsal” for the series “Zero Day”. In the filmed scene, “De Niro’s character insults a group of demonstrators, paid extras. But someone took this video, and made something completely false with it,” specifies the agent.
The series currently in production is a political conspiracy thriller where the threat of a major cyber attack looms. The actor plays George Mullen, the former president who “comes out of retirement to lead a commission to investigate a potential global crisis.” The release date has not yet been released.
Since the publication of this denial, many accounts that shared the video have deleted it. However, at the time of writing, it is still possible to find it on X.
