At a request from the prosecution, a criminal trial could take place soon against Mimi Marchandsuspected of having extorted money from Karine Le Marchand. In April 2020 she allegedly put pressure on the host, who ultimately paid her 1,600 euros, for the non-publication of photos of her daughter leaving police custody. AFP reports this information, based on revelations from a Source close to the matter who specifies that Michèle Marchand, whose real name is, disputes the facts. It was on April 19 that the public prosecutor requested this trial before the criminal court.
At the time of the events, the presenter of “L’amour est dans le pré” had filed a complaint in 2020, indicating that a “Source” of her acquaintance had narrowly avoided the publication of photos of her daughter leaving police custody against a payment. She did not specify the identity of her Source, who would in fact be the 77-year-old “paparazzi popess”. According to the elements of the requisitions, consulted by the AFP, the latter would have become “more pressing or even threatening by insinuation”. “While Karine Le Marchand did not make herself available and did not pay him the entire amount mentioned (3,000 euros) during their first exchange [elle aurait indiqué] : ‘It will be too late… it’s annoying for the little one’” it would be clarified.

Questioned during the investigation, Mimi Marchand would have contested any form of pressure, ensuring that it was the host who had “insisted” on her taking the money. Concerning the follow-up during a telephone call, she clarified that she was simply trying to prepare a response in case the affair came out in the press. The prosecution is also requesting a trial for “corruption and concealment of violation of professional secrecy” against the photographer Sébastien Valiela. Already known for having revealed the existence of Mazarine Pingeot, the hidden daughter of François Mitterand, but also the affair of François Hollande and Julie Gayet, he regularly spoke about it on the set of “Touche pas à mon poste”. A trial for violation of professional secrecy is also requested for a 45-year-old police officer, alleged informant of the paparazzi.

In March 2024, the M6 star vaguely addressed the subject through a declaration of love made to his daughter Alya, on his Instagram account. “My Princess, I will defend you until I die. I love you madly, I am proud of who you are, of your pure kindness, your sensitivity and your intelligence. Being 21 is not easy. Neither is being my daughter. I’m sorry that my notoriety spares you nothing. I love you to the stars. » she wrote in particular. She also wanted to provide details on the arrest of her daughter which occurred “during a routine check”. “She has never been banned from driving. It was 10 a.m. and she was going shopping at my request. Her saliva test came back positive and she was taken into custody at the rue de la Faisanderie police station. » she assured.
