Ukrainian authorities have ordered the forced evacuation of families with children from sixteen localities in the Kharkiv region (north-east), due to the intensification of Russian strikes, the governor announced Thursday.
“In total, 267 children and their families must be evacuated from sixteen localities” close to the front line, Oleg Synegoubov, governor of this region bordering Russia, explained on Telegram.
-On Thursday, a 54-year-old woman was also killed in the area by an explosive drone, according to the governor.
Important railway junction
Kupiansk, which had 24,000 inhabitants before the Russian invasion launched almost three years ago, had been occupied by Moscow’s forces from the first days of the war, then recaptured by the Ukrainian army during a counter-attack. lightning offensive in fall 2022.
