Climate change and viruses don’t care about Donald Trump’s executive orders

Bad news for Donald Trump and his friends: climate change, pandemics and transgender people will continue to exist despite his decrees!

More and more, there will be two types of reality: the real one and Mr. Trump’s.

In Donald Trump’s reality, tariffs are good against inflation, the United States was experiencing economic decline under Biden and is lagging majorly behind in oil and gas!

However, the United States is the world’s largest producer of oil and gas.

Taxes on imported products will increase prices.

Above all, the American economy has never been so vigorous…

But hey.

Trump’s “New World” is amplified by social networks controlled by billionaires who have licked his boots.

The reality

Large-scale wildfires, hurricanes and floods will continue to be commonplace in the United States and not just in Democratic states.

Epidemics, pandemics, diseases will also continue to exist.

Global coordination to detect, track and contain them will always be essential. It must be remembered that the Americans have emerged from COVID, in particular thanks to Donald Trump’s vaccine production program!

Climate change and viruses don’t really care about Mr. Trump’s reality.

Investments in solar and wind will also continue, although they may slow down in the United States. These energy sources are being adopted not for their looks, but because they are becoming increasingly economically viable.

In China, they produce electric cars, not because it’s woke, but because it’s good for the economy and air quality!

China woke up during Trump’s first term and transformed its economy accordingly.

Here, we managed to confront and tame the monster, but we remained totally dependent.

Become independent for real!

We will not emerge from this second presidency of Donald Trump unscathed. François Legault said it: the economic face of Quebec will change.

Some industries will no longer be as important, others will take up space.

Let’s take advantage of this to review our economic fabric, improve the secondary and tertiary processing sectors of raw materials, to both offer better-paying jobs, but also to improve our export offering to Asian and European markets.

But transforming yourself is not easy and it will take time!

We will not start tomorrow morning to replace all our fruit imports with greenhouses!

So much the better, however, if we choose to partially exit this economic relationship that is both magnificent and sometimes very unhealthy!

If Canadians want to show that they are not Americans, they have the opportunity to stop following them, to stop doing what they are doing on economic and fiscal matters and to establish a real economic identity Canadian.
