“It was the hardest thing”

After five years of relationship and almost three years of marriage, Achraf Hakimi broke up with Hiba Abouk. Two years after this highly publicized divorce, the Moroccan international spoke about this painful separation. It’s “the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,” he said in an interview with Anas Bukhash’s YouTube channel.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender added that he is aware of having made a lot of mistakes which he is working to correct. “Since my divorce, I have learned to take care of myself, to love myself more, as well as the people around me,” he confessed.

The 26-year-old is trying to challenge himself and be a better person. “When I was with my ex, I accepted things that I know I wouldn’t accept today, and then I wondered why I accepted him.”

When it comes to his love life, Hakimi has made it known that he is a sweetheart. “I am open, I am single and I feel good,” concluded the Moroccan defender of PSG who could become one of the best country full-backs in the world. The Parisian club reportedly plans to extend his contract until 2029 and increase his salary from 10 to 14 million euros net annually.
