Cameron Diaz returns to the screen after ten years dedicated to her life as a mother

Star of the film “Back in Action” alongside Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz spent ten years away from her acting career to take care of her family. The 52-year-old actress opened up about how she retreated from the spotlight and avoided any public events.

“I wasn’t doing any training. I haven’t done anything in public. I said no to everything except my wine,” she told “Fortune” in reference to the Avaline brand she founded during her time away from the big screen. “That’s what I focused on the most, when I was doing something other than being a mother and living day to day. That was about it. I’m just trying to stay alive, like every other mother. I’m just trying to continue living,” assured the wife of musician Benji Madden, with whom she has two children, Raddix, 5 years old, and Cardinal, 10 months.

Starring in “Back in Action”, released on Netflix on Friday January 17, she admitted that it was working with her colleague and friend Jamie Foox that convinced her to get back in the saddle. “I didn’t think I would make another film. Living my life doing other things made me perfectly happy. Day to day, not at the cinema. And then I got a call from Jamie Foxx. And how can I say no to Jamie Foxx when he says, “Hey, I have a big action comedy that we can have a lot of fun with”? If there’s anyone I’m going to go back and spend months on set with, having fun, laughing, it’s Jamie,” she described.

Directed by Seth Gordon, “Back in Action” is the story of Emy and Matt, two CIA agents who quit to start a family. They are both caught up in spite of themselves by espionage when their cover is unmasked.
