Fires in Los Angeles: 11 dead and more than 14,000 hectares gone up in smoke

Five death occurred because of thefire in the neighborhood Palisadeswhile six others were linked to the fire in the district ofEatonspecified the same source.

Nearly 14,500 hectares went up in smoke, underlined, for its part, the California Department in charge of forest management and the fire protection (CAL Fire).

Currently, six fires are raging in the region, according to the same source. The Palisades fire, the largest of the six, burned more than 8,500 acres, while more than 5,600 acres went up in smoke in the Eaton fire. In addition, more than 10,000 buildings were destroyed in the fires.

Faced with the violence of the flames, the American president, Joe Bidenannounced the deployment ofarmy units to support the efforts of firefighters.

According to an estimate of JPMorganthe fires are expected to cost more than $20 billion to insurerswhile the agency Bloomberg believes that the economic losses could amount to $57 billion.
