Germany faces violence against elected officials

Marco Wanderwitz has been a federal deputy for more than twenty years. Last year, this 49-year-old elected Christian Democrat (CDU) announced he was leaving politics. He and his wife, also a federal elected official and member of the CDU, are therefore not running for a new mandate during the early legislative elections on February 23. At issue: the regular threats of which they have been victims for years, from the extreme right, very strong in their region of origin, Saxony.
