Expert Khadija Bendam appointed vice-president of the Arab Women's Network in Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Security

The president of the Moroccan section of Women in Nuclear Global (WIN), Khadija Bendam, has been appointed vice-president of the Arab Women Network in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Security, whose inaugural meeting will take place was held recently in Cyprus.

This event brought together specialists and decision-makers in the field of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear security to discuss the challenges faced and opportunities offered in this sector at the regional level.

The appointment of the Moroccan expert will allow her to actively contribute to the promotion and empowerment of women in particular in matters of chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological security, indicates WIN-Maroc in a press release.

During this meeting, Ms. Bendam presented a presentation on regional activities for the empowerment of women in nuclear fields, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the participation of women in this strategic sector.

The opening session was marked, in particular, by interventions by the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Najat Mokhtar, as well as representatives of the American Nuclear Security Administration ( NNSA) and the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS).

The Arab countries that took part in this inaugural meeting are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen and Algeria.

This event, underlines the press release, marks an important step towards consolidating the place of women in the field of CBRN security, while contributing to the strengthening of regional capacities to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The Arab Women in CBRN Security Network is an initiative to promote the participation and empowerment of women in sectors related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear security. It brings together experts, policymakers and thought leaders to share knowledge, build skills and encourage collaboration in a strategic area for international security.
