“Due to the intense cold, at the same time as the cold symptoms which have manifested themselves in recent days, Pope Francis will celebrate the Angelus prayer on Sunday, December 22 from the chapel of the Sainte-Marthe house”, his residence at Vatican, says a message on Telegram.
The Vatican specifies that this decision was also taken in view of “the commitments planned for next week”, even if Pope Francis received this Saturday, during two separate audiences, the members of the Roman Curia, the “government” of the Catholic Church, as well as employees of the Holy See and the Vatican governorate.
Next week, however, will be busy for the 88-year-old pope who will open the holy door at Saint Peter's Basilica on Tuesday, December 24, thus marking the start of the jubilee of the Catholic Church which is to last one year. The same day he must celebrate Christmas mass.
The next day he will lead another mass and deliver his message “Urbi et Orbi” (to the city and the world) and on December 26, Saint Stephen's Day, he will open a holy door in the Roman prison of Rebbibia and there will celebrate a mass.
