London has become the “European capital” of Sharia courts, according to a major investigation by the Times. There are now 85 of these “Sharia councils” in the country and this justice is often preferred to that of the State. The daily also shows that polygamy is normalized in large sections of British society.

In these “Sharia councils,” men can simply end their marriage by saying the word “divorce” three times. Polygamy is an open fact. The journalists thus tested a mobile application designed for drafting “Islamic wills”. Men can indicate how many wives they have, with a choice ranging from 1 to 4. This application, approved by a “sharia court, entitles girls to half as much inheritance as boys.
