It was in the United Kingdom that this chocolate bar lover came across this unique specimen.
The affair is creating a buzz on social networks. In the United Kingdom, Harry Seager came across a smooth Mars chocolate bar, devoid of its famous undulations.
Enough to provoke questions from this 34-year-old man who then immediately published the photo of the said bar on a Facebook group and wrote to the giant Mars Wrigley UK to understand the why and the how.
“I wonder if this is a cost-cutting measure,” asked the consumer, who bought the treat at a service station in Oxfordshire, southeast of England.
The food group did not take the time to respond to him, but sent him, as compensation, a voucher for 2 pounds, or 2.50 euros.
“I think 2 pounds is great, it'll give me two free Mars bars. Maybe they could have sent me more but I'm not ungrateful. I think it's amazing after all what happened, receiving the 2 pound voucher,” explained Harry Seager.
Faced with the buzz and questions from the press, Mars Wrigley UK explained that the smooth bar must have “slipped” on the production lines, escaping the crucial coating step which is done by blowing air.
On Facebook, ironic comments are rife. For one user, the bar was “pre-licked, that's all”, while another thought that “the‘inverter must have been on vacation”.
