War in Ukraine: ‘Return to sender’, Ukrainians hack Shahed drones to attack Russians with their own weapons

Last Tuesday, 95 of them were hijacked in a massive attack.

This Tuesday, Ukraine deplored the biggest drone attack since the start of the conflict. According to official Ukrainian sources, Russia launched 188 drones de type Shaheda record in a thousand days of war. Drones designed by the Iranians, which can travel 1000 kilometers, and also manufactured in Russia, the weapons experts of the Kremlin having made some modifications.

90% success

However, it is not because Russia sends drones that they necessarily hit their targets. Still according to Ukrainian sources cited by Le Monde, the defense would have succeeded in bringing down “76 drones by kinetic means” and to divert 95 of them. That’s a 90% success rate.

More innovation from Ukrainian Armed Forces as Lemonde reports that Ukraine now has the ability to hijack Russian drone navigation systems, causing enemy UAVs to deviate from their intended paths or crash, often sending them back to Russia or into Belarus.

Indeed, the Ukrainians have apparently found a way to hack the drone control system. As a result, they can make them deviate from their trajectory, and thus make them miss their target until they crash. Better still, the Ukrainians would also have managed to “return to sender” and so “intentionally send them back to Russia or even Belarus”.

Knowing that Russia sends dozens of kamikaze drones every day.
