Among my reasons to be grateful

Tradition dictates that Thanksgiving meal diners share what they are grateful for before tackling the turkey and its many side dishes. Some journalists or commentators push the tradition by communicating their list to their readers. I’ll keep the scoop on mine with my in-laws from Chicago later this Thursday. But I will reserve for the readers and commentators of this blog a reason which belongs exclusively to them.

I usually thank those who contribute to fundraising campaigns for this blog. But on this day of celebration I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have used this site since the beginning, whether or not they contribute to its maintenance. Since the November 5 election, it warms my heart to see that interest in the information found there remains high. This particularly reassures me when I see that certain media outlets, including CNN and MSNBC, have seen their audiences drop sharply in the wake of Donald Trump’s election. This not only gives me more reason to be grateful but also to continue this work.

That said, I’d be lying if I didn’t at the same time confess the need to take a little break. Also, unless there is major news, I will leave you until Monday.
