SURVEY – Three weeks after the election of Donald Trump, a poll published by CNN and CBS News shows a certain enthusiasm for the Republican candidate's second term within American society.
The first election of Donald Trump in 2016 caused a wave of panic to blow through the United States. The second, on November 5, seems much more accepted by the Americans. In any case, this is what a poll published Monday, November 25 by CNN and CBS News tends to prove. According to this survey carried out between November 19 and 22, a majority of Americans say they “happy” (31%) or “satisfied” (24%) of the victory of the Republican candidate against his rival Kamala Harris. Conversely, 23% are “dissatisfied” et 21% “angry”.
As the counting of ballots draws to a close, Donald Trump has garnered 76.8 million votes in the American election, compared to 74.3 for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, thus winning the popular vote. This is a record for a Republican candidate and the first time that Donald Trump has won the vote of a majority of citizens – in 2016, Hillary Clinton came first in the popular vote but was beaten in terms of electors.
An approved transition, controversial appointments
Elected without possible contestation by winning all the key states, Donald Trump seems to benefit from the confidence of the American people for his second term. According to the CBS poll, 23% of the population is “convinced” by what he could implement during his presidency, and 30% say they “optimists”. On the other hand, 23% of respondents say they “worried” et 23% “scared”. On the question of rights and freedoms, however, 42% of Americans believe that Trump “will protect”when 37% judge that they “will threaten”. On the economic front, a major theme of the election, 44% of those questioned trust the president-elect to lower the prices of basic necessities, while 35% think they will increase under his mandate.

And this, despite the appointment of controversial figures or those deemed incompetent to future key positions.

And she was resolutely hostile to the appointment of Matt Gaetz (30% for, 38% against) to Justice, but he has since given up, under pressure from daily revelations about his paid sexual relations with several women.
Priority on the economy and immigration

Unsurprisingly, we find largely in the lead (79% of those surveyed make one “high priority”16% a “priority”) the desire to see prices fall. The reduction in taxes for individuals comes in second position (59% of “high priority”30% of “priority”), confirming the theme of the economy as the main driver of the Trump vote. On this last point, 57% of Americans approve of the plan “mass deportation” brandished by Donald Trump during his campaign.
