Ceasefire in Lebanon: Israel decides on Tuesday

The Israeli security cabinet “will decide on Tuesday evening” on a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, an Israeli official told AFP on Monday.

“We are making progress on this front,” declared a little earlier in New York the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, who for his part reported such a meeting “today or tomorrow”.

The vice-speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Elias Bou Saab, assured Reuters that there appear to be no serious obstacles to beginning the implementation of the ceasefire agreement proposed by the United States.

The American media Axios revealed Monday morning that the two parties had already agreed on the details of this 60-day truce at the end of which the war between Israel and Hezbollah would end, citing a source within the American government.
