She also led the federal agency for assistance to SMEs (Small Business Administration, SBA) at the start of Donald Trump’s first term (January 2017-January 2021), of which she is a long-time supporter and of whom she was one of the main donors during the former real estate mogul’s first presidential campaign in 2016.
Resigning from the SBA in 2019, she took the helm of America First Action, a group centralizing donations collected by Donald Trump, and also directs the America First Policy Institute think tank, with positions aligned with those of the Republican.
